jacques santini and oasis
so. after 9 months it finally happened. word on the street was that a mind boggling 74 names had been decided on by the press, much denial had been made, but finally Tottenham Hotspur have a manager. well, head coach because they're doing some continental thing with a head coach and a director of football (Frank Arnesen from PSV) that i don't much understand. i understand the concept of it, i just don't understand why they're doing it.

jacques santini. as you may guess from the name, he's french, and appears to be well-qualified for the post, having won 3 trophies at Lyon, developing their youth team, and taking the french national side to Euro 2004 by winning all their group matches and conceding just 2 goals. the french team have lost only one match with him in charge, as well as the confederations cup in 2003. all of which is pretty impressive, but also worrying because England play them first. and at the moment, England are crap. well, they're not, but my god they're playing shit recently. they tend to up the ante against bigger teams (except brasil in the world cup 2 years ago, but i still think thats because of the heat), so maybe jacques & his players will lose another game. anyway. it looks to me like Tottenham actually have a proven decent manager, i was worried when names like graeme souness and monkey heid peter reid kept coming up.

today i have added another 10 songs to real jukebox because i heard them on xfm what i listened to. although some were reminders from other songs. i've just thought of another few to record from a Stone Roses cd. just a lil' insight into the exciting world of Treeson. yes, i really am boring, its not something i made up to seem funny.

myself and Princess Inkysoso are currently discussing music in general. she disagrees with radiohead and graham coxon being in my collection. i concur, radiohead are indeed pretentious, they make music for themselves these days and its shit. their fans talk about the hidden meanings in it. tell you what, you people, you listen to Definitely Maybe and find hidden meanings and political messages in that. you won't, inkysoso thinks this is because Oasis don't have the intelligence for that but i disagree. anyway, i like Oasis for their lack of meaning in their music: they're just good songs. they've announced their newest drummer, zak starkey the son of ringo starr. and not because he's the son of a beatle, god no.
"Noel also confirmed rumours that ex Beatle Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey has been playing with Oasis. While he's not a full time replacement it appears he fits in well ("He's a good boy he's got a good haircut. Good shoes - which is important.") and he'll be handling drumming duties at Glastonbury."

so there you go. thats the secret to a good drummer.

today i thought of something when i was making a cup of tea. "nothing is certain." why i don't know. but i was also impressed with the following line, which takes you by surprise. "nothing is certain, of that we can be... quite sure." see? you thought it was gonna be "of that we can be certain", but it was never certain, was it. and we can be sure of that.

too much for one night.
