dirty dog and 5 things that are great

yesterday i accompanied Inkysoso, her sister Inkyroro and their dog Dirtymofo in walking around their local country park. that dog is a disgrace. he's a golden retriever, who uses his natural instincts to go undercover and incognito as quick as possible by rolling around in as much mud as he can. actually, thats not quite true. he ends up with his bottom half black (not brown or even dark brown, but black) and his top half beige. he's not really golden, more blonde really. the face can be either black or blonde, it doesn't really matter. he clearly thinks that we like his style and are jealous because he comes to join us and shake all the muddy goodness over us. bastard.

as you may be aware, dear readers (me and you, Inklet), i never know what to write about. so i'm going to write about 5 things that are great and why they're great because then its not really about me. i KNOW Inkers is going to tell me i'm full of shit and that a lot of what i say is wrong but i dont care, its my opinion.

5 things that are great and why

  1. Oasis
they are a rare band that play better live in front of massive audiences than intimate gigs. they don't have hidden meanings in their music, Inkers says this is because they haven't got the intelligence for subtleties but i dont care. also Liam and Noel are really funny, the Live Forever documentary/movie that was out last year highlighted this. i don't think it came out in the states, but my god you people got to hunt for it on ebay or something. its about britpop in the 1990s, when indie-rock music took over the country. listen to Noel berating one of the camera crew for buying Morning Glory but not Definitely Maybe: "how can you live with yourself? Definitely Maybe was much better!". i like the fact that Liam and Noel are very honest, if they say something it is because that is what they think. they said they'd be bigger than the Beatles because they thought they would be, things like that. then there's the music as well. quite frankly i don't think you can beat Acquiesce (obscure b-side, Noel says it should've been a single), Columbia, and The Hindu Times. it's just Rock 'n' Roll.
  2. Tottenham Hotspur
ok. this opens me to ridicule more than my other choices. ok, so they haven't been that successful in recent years. but if i was a russian billionaire looking to buy me a football club, this is where i'd look, and if i was a fairly successful football manager after a challenge i would be interested. they're sleeping giants, the mighty hotspur, with plenty good players who just need to show their potential. i think we've got a decent goalkeeper now in Paul Robinson, who should be challenging Calamity James as England's Number 1. defensively, Ledley King has shown in Euro 2004 that he's certainly got the ability to be a world-class centre back, and Anthony Gardner isn't lacking in ability either, he got called up earlier this year. Stevie Carr at right back, certainly one of the best in the world. Could do with a decent left-back though now that Ziege has gone. i've always regarded Taricco as shit. the midfield isn't THAT bad, Johnnie Jackson and Rohan Ricketts had a few games last season and Super Simon Davies is the dogs bollocks. up front we're spoiled for choice; Robbie Keane and Freddie Kanoute had good seasons last year, and when Jermaine Defoe joined the club he did really well and was Sven's Number 24 this summer (just missed out on going). then there's Helder Postiga who had an indifferent season but didn't do that bad when he came on and scored against England on thursday the bastard. there's some decent young'uns coming through too, Owen Price and Dean Marney are excellent in my Champ squad. from a club owner's point of view, look at the attendances. even when we've been really shit, people have turned up. a few years back, we were financially the 2nd most successful club in the country behind manyoo - and we weren't even playing in european competition! surely its about time we had a team worthy of the support.
  3. Treeson
ok. this is a joke one. and its now reached bed time so i won't be adding any more, it'll just be the three things that are great. ok, two. because i'm not. i'm lazy, talk too much, and look a bit funny. look after yourselves. and each other.

Treeson and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat
