graduation and alton towers
Inkysoso graduated on wednesday. i'm so proud of her, she's proven that the blonde stereotype is bollocks by becoming one of the most qualified in the people. top 10% or whatever it is from one of the top 20 universities in the country (so they say. from a poll in the guardian some time recently). and also, the graduation was at Wembley Conference Centre. the Wembley complex (conference centre, arena, stadium) is all together, just off the north circular (A406). i saw Oasis at the Stadium in 2000, they were the last British band to headline there before it was knocked down a few months later. anyway, the rebuilding is still in progress but the arch is up and its actually looking quite good, you can see it from quite a distance. anyway, for all her complaining about not wanting to do the graduation etc, she's done it. and nobody can take that away from her.
Alton Towers yesterday. alton towers: where the fun never ends. i think its that. or it might be "where the magic never ends". but on the other hand i may be thinking of disneyland. anyway, the magic/fun DOES end, at 5:00 when the rides close. yesterday's trip was spoiled by 3 things:
- flume breaking down when we'd been queueing 20mins. we got on the ride after another 45mins.
- black hole also breaking down. queued for an hour for that one, too.
- the fucking schoolchildren. little bastards, fighting in the queues and shouting at each other - the 10yr old scousers trying to bum each other in the elongated queue for flume were the most annoying, along with the 14yr old girls queue jumping oblivion: "if anyone says we're queue jumping, we're not. we're just filling space that was already there." sorry, luv. she was standing next to a sign giving alton towers' definition of queue jumping and guess what, she'd just described it. AND she was a munter.
i know its getting on for 15yrs old but nemesis still whoops ass. below is a picture of it from the alton towers website.
the only ride there that still scares the living shit out of me is ripsaw. look at the picture below and you can understand why.
